PCCC Membership Terms and Conditions

1. Membership Agreement

By applying for membership in the Philippine-Canadian Chamber of Commerce (PCCC), you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, as well as the PCCC By-Laws and Code of Conduct.

2. Application Process

All membership applications are subject to review and approval by PCCC. The application process includes:

  • Submission of completed application form with accurate information
  • Review by PCCC membership committee (typically within 5-7 business days)
  • Payment of applicable membership fees upon approval
  • Final activation of membership upon payment confirmation

PCCC reserves the right to accept or reject any membership application at its sole discretion.

3. Membership Categories and Fees

PCCC offers various membership categories, each with specific rights, benefits, and annual fees:

  • Regular Members: Includes voting rights and full participation in governance
  • Corporate Members: Business entities with fees based on employee count
  • Individual Members: Filipino-Canadian professionals and entrepreneurs
  • Student Members: Full-time students at reduced rates
  • Associate Members: Non-voting membership for supporters of PCCC objectives

Membership fees are annual and non-transferable. PCCC reserves the right to adjust membership fees with 60 days notice to existing members.

4. Payment Terms

Payment of membership fees must be made within 30 days of application approval. Accepted payment methods include:

  • Credit card (via secure Stripe payment gateway)
  • Direct deposit/bank transfer
  • Cheque payable to Philippine-Canadian Chamber of Commerce

Payment Process: Payment is only required after your application is approved. You will receive a secure payment link via email once your application has been reviewed and accepted. Once membership is approved and payment is received, fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law.

5. Member Responsibilities

As a member of PCCC, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information in your application and profile
  • Maintain professional conduct at all PCCC events and activities
  • Support the mission and objectives of PCCC
  • Pay membership fees on time
  • Respect the intellectual property and confidential information of PCCC and fellow members
  • Use the member directory and resources responsibly and ethically
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

6. Member Benefits

PCCC members receive various benefits depending on their membership category, which may include:

  • Access to member directory and networking opportunities
  • Invitations to PCCC events, seminars, and trade missions
  • Business development and trade facilitation services
  • Advocacy and representation in business matters
  • Marketing and promotional opportunities
  • Educational resources and professional development programs
  • Voting rights (for regular members only)

PCCC reserves the right to modify benefits with reasonable notice to members.

7. Renewal and Termination

Membership is valid for one year from the date of activation and must be renewed annually. Members will receive renewal notices 60 days prior to expiration.

Voluntary Termination: Members may resign at any time by providing written notice. Membership fees are non-refundable upon resignation.

Involuntary Termination: PCCC reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership for:

  • Non-payment of membership fees
  • Violation of PCCC By-Laws or Code of Conduct
  • Conduct detrimental to PCCC's reputation or interests
  • Providing false or misleading information

8. Data Privacy and Confidentiality

Your personal information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable privacy laws. By becoming a member, you consent to:

  • PCCC collecting and storing your membership information
  • Your contact information being included in the member directory (visible to other members)
  • Receiving communications from PCCC regarding membership, events, and opportunities

You may opt out of marketing communications at any time while maintaining your membership.

9. Limitation of Liability

PCCC provides membership services and benefits on an "as is" basis. While we strive to provide valuable networking and business opportunities, PCCC:

  • Does not guarantee specific business outcomes or financial results
  • Is not responsible for interactions or transactions between members
  • Does not endorse or guarantee any member's products, services, or business practices
  • Shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from membership

10. Intellectual Property

All PCCC branding, logos, and materials are the intellectual property of PCCC. Members may use PCCC logos and branding only:

  • To indicate membership status
  • In accordance with PCCC's brand guidelines
  • With prior written approval for any promotional use

Unauthorized use of PCCC intellectual property may result in membership termination.

11. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from membership shall first be attempted to be resolved through good faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through mediation or arbitration as outlined in the PCCC By-Laws.

12. Amendments

PCCC reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Members will be notified of significant changes via email. Continued membership after notification constitutes acceptance of the amended terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any legal proceedings shall be conducted in the courts of Ontario.
